Case study Battery Packs: Medical monitoring systems

In this case study, the leading edge technology from RRC power solutions allows the portable use of a medical coagulameter. In the medical field, diagnostic monitoring systems for patient self-medication are used. An integrated battery and battery charging solution was developed by RRC.

The technical highlights are:

• The housing contains the battery pack, charge electronics and power conversion which replaces an external charger.
• The integration of the battery and charging electronics in one compact unit eliminates the need for disposable batteries (and the constant replacement that they require).
• Communication with the application via a custom serial interface
• The solution is now an integral part of the medical diagnostic equipment
